Compliant eInvoicing

Since the mid-1960s, companies have begun establishing data links with trading partners to transfer documents such as invoices and purchase orders. Inspired by paperless office, they developed the first EDI systems. At the time, there was no standard for electronic data interchange.

Europe are the early adopters but this is a phenomenon that will go further as goverments want to make sure they are not missing out on taxes. Under EU Directive 2014/55/EU on electronic invoicing led in 2017 to the "European standard on electronic invoicing" EN 16931. EN 16931 defines a semantic data model (plus allowed syntaxes), not a single “format.” Central public bodies had to be able to receive compliant e-invoices by 18 Apr 2019 (sub-central by 2020).

As an extension to our own Paperless Office that we have evolved over many years to provide access to all business relevant documentation anytime, anyplace Oyster is certifying its eInvoicing.
